Mind-Body Syndrome (MBS) or Tension Myositis Syndrome (TMS) is caused by your brain. Even in pain that is caused by an injury or serious illness, the brain is what turns on the pain message.
In Chronic Symptoms, the brain has not turned off the message because it believes there is still a danger somewhere. It’s job is to keep the body safe, and if it is perceiving danger somewhere, it will keep the pain/symptom message continuing.
In our recovery process, we learn to see how we have kept the danger message activated, and through our Awareness, we learn to influence the brain to perceive safety, so it can return to a state of homeostasis.
This allows not only the pain/symptom message to calm down, but also allows us to feel more peace, joy, and ease in our daily lives. Many people that have recovered, or are in the process of recovery report that having a mind-body symptom was the best thing that has ever happened to them, as it opened the door to another way of Being that they never knew was possible.

This is an important question to ask yourself. Most of us, in our attempts to become pain-free, visit many doctors, massage therapists, chiropractors, and acupuncturists. And we may try new diets, supplements, and avoidance strategies, only to feel more pressure to get better.
But, if you have a mind-body syndrome, all this is doing is telling the brain that there is a problem, and the more we fixate on this problem, the stronger the message becomes! And even though our pain may feel structural, or our bodies feel worse after eating certain foods, the fact remains that we are giving our subconscious brains the message that we are not safe.

All sessions are done remotely through Zoom. If you don’t use Zoom, we can meet via phone.
All payments are required at the time of our session and can be done via Paypal or Venmo.
Initial intake, Assessment, and Diagnosis
During our first session together, I will ask you many questions. Some will be about your symptoms, and some will be about you, your life, and your sense of wellness. Please be prepared to be as honest as you can with me. It will help in your recovery process.
This initial visit aims to determine, without any doubt, if you suffer from the mind-body syndrome. I can usually figure this out in about 5 minutes, but I would like you to be clear so we go into depth.
This first session is 1 1/2 hours.

Ongoing Support
Depending on your current needs, we will address any concerns here. You may need more conviction in your recovery process, or you may need help with ongoing fear of symptoms.
Whatever the case, we will work together to find the most effective and safe way forward in your recovery process.
